I've heard some rumors on the internets claiming that the XPS 720's LED lights can mimick sound based on intensity, and color changes can be cued by certain events ( ie: lights turn red when shot ).

Though I have a 710 I don't think the case is different apart from color, so does anyone know how to accomplish such feats on a 710?

Well, around here I guess. Most of us build our own, not purchase pre-built computers....

you think 11 other people really bought one of these?

sorry, just poking fun.

If you could give us a little more information about how the LEDS are set-up to work currently we may be able to shed a little light on how to mod them. I'd assume their just directly wired to a 3.3v source and if thats the case then you'll need to remove the power calbe and whatever links then LEDs together and build a circuit board to control the LEDs then wire each LED individually to the control module. I know bit-tech had a guide on making the PCB required to control LED, I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

EDIT: looks like it got moved when a couple staffers of Bit-Tech left a while back
