I am trying to install XP on a DELL XPS 600 with a DELL OEM XP SP3 CD. When Windows boots for the time it blue screens. I researched, and it is a SATA driver issue. Does anyone know how to install the driver, even though it blue screens. It also blue screens in safe mode. Thanks.

SATA drivers have been native to XP since sp1, so I doubt that's it.
You could look for an updated chipset driver fom Dell though.

Guessing the laptop had Vista on it?
Go into the BIOS and look for a Sata mode, its set to AHCI, change it to the other option (Compatable or IDE)

The only SATA chips that work with XP setup without providing additional drivers at the F6 step are those that have an IDE compatibility mode.

Have you checked here for drivers?
