Cliffs:
1. Does anyone know where I can download the SATA drivers for a Dell XPS 400?
Long Story:
A friend of mine gave me a Dell XPS 400 after he had bought a new computer and did not want this one anymore. Apparently, the old hard drive had died, was removed and discarded. He has none of the disks. I put a new SATA HD in, but ran into big problems trying to install WinXP. After researching the problem, I have determined that I need the SATA drivers. I have gone to the Dell website and ordered replacement disks, but I have the whole damn Thanksgiving weekend to play with this new toy, and I cannot get past step one!
I am going to try slipstreaming SP3 because some have said online that they have had some success, but I would like to have the option of actually having the drivers should that prove unsuccessful (I am downloading SP3 right now).
Thanks.
