Dell X300 Versus IBM X31 or X40

Currently I have a Dell x300 and frankly am not happy with the build quality. I have had the LCD screen replaced once already because a spot appeared and I am going to have to have it replaced again. If you put even the slightest pressure on the top of the x300 screen if gives significantly. I travel a lot and need a lightweight laptop that will not become damaged at the a bit of normal wear and tear. My question is would the IBM x31 or x40 be more durable, maybe even the t41? I can not find an x31 or x40 to review. A colleague has a t41 and it seems to have a very sturdy build.

Thanks,

David
