Dell X3 battery problem

I recently bought a axim x3 from geeks.com and I'm having trouble getting the pda to turn on without having the AC power connected.

When the power is connected and I look in the battery properties, in the main battery section it says "no battery," even though I do have the battery in the pda. Is this normal or is there something wrong? If something is wrong, could it just be a dead main battery, or is there something wrong with the PDA itself?
 
Similar issue were posted before. I guess it was the issue of dell software presumably. Have you reset or contact dell yet?
