Dell X200 laptop and upgrading the processor

I have a P3M-800Mhz in this laptop.
Now the X200's are coming w/ 900 or 1.2 Ghz P3Ms..do you guys think they just changed the proc and the bios will take it? Anyone know if the X200 CPU is socketed or soldered on? etc etc.

I don't remeber off the top of my head but I believe the fastest you can take that system up to is 850mhz. I believe the system is running on a 100mhz fsb.

Yeah I just need to know what type of socket it takes and then buy a faster p3 mobile processor w/ the same socketing configuration/pin layout thing. i'ms ure the bios can take it

That seems to be the trend on a lot of laptops.
What you buy, is what you will be stuck with!

Besides the jump from 800MHz to 900MHz is NOT a big jump
and most likely not worth the investment and pain.
