Dell Wireless Options? (Lattitude D600)

Ok...

I've been in the market for a laptop. Now that Dell has some good deals, I've decided to pull the trigger on a D600.

I have a couple of options for the wireless card.

Intel 2200 b/g or Dell 1350 b/g

The dell card is a free upgrade, the Intel card is $19.

Is the Intel card significantly better? Will one of the cards have a better range on my home network?

Any help is appreciated.

I'm looking at dell laptops too. What good deals do you have on the D600?

I'd go with the Intel 2200 b/g because that's true centrino. The intel card will have better battery life than the Dell card. Not sure about the range tho.

I just speced a Dell D600 at Dell Small Business...

1.6 M
512MB ram
40GB HDD

about $1376 after the current dell promotions.

i think the 2 will likely work the same, if not the identical card. The $19 is probably what it costs Dell to license the Intel name. Ultimately the card is prbably made somewhere in China for less than a buck. IBM does the same for their stuff.

I have the 600m with the 2200BG and I am very happy with it, no compatability problems and great range.

I have the dell wireless card in my D600. Works perfect in the last 5 months. I am using it with the Linksys wireless router.
