Dell Vostro Shipping/Build time question...

Dunno if this would be the right forum to ask this but...

I haven't ordered from Dell in quite a while. Past experiences, they build & ship fast (5-7days from date of order to box in hand).

If you have ordered a Vostro 220 mini tower... How long did it take from day you ordered to box in hand? Was it before or after the "Estimated ship time" ?

I was planning to order today. Ready to ship date is 18 Dec + 5-7 days shipping is probably gonna be after Xmas.

When was your last order? Planning on buying the refurbs because they don't have build times and are ready to ship. I have to order 10 units for a job and am very short on time. I've checked Fast Track systems but they are all laptops.

Any suggestions anyone?

Dell warranties are supposed to be transferrable, and with complete systems, I think all you need to enter at Dell website is service tag: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/change_order/tag_transfer

Bing Cash Back on eBay is 20% right now, too.



edit: you might also want to call Dell directly and see what type of guaranteed shipment they can offer you on 10 new desktops. Also, 15% discount coupon 0$6HXQ032FGQV5 (ripped from Tech Bargains dot com) for Dell Outlet (I think it may expire today)

I did ebay but didn't find anything crazy. I wanted to go thru dell directly so I can use some of my dell deferred account. I might buy 1 or 2 refurbs to "buy time" for the other's to come. The refurbs are cold deals tho considering adding monitors bring prices well past their weekly deals. Most of the time I check www.gotapex.com for deals...

The 15% off code would definitely help tho...

i got mine from the outlet and it literally came in 2 days. Maybe it was 1 even, it was pretty ridiculous is all i remember. i wonder how much additional time it takes to build it?
