Actually, you have 3 resolutions to choose from. Your XGA is actually W (for widescreen) XGA that comes in at 1280x800. You can get a WXGA+ that measures 1440x900, or you can get the WSXGA (what I got) at 1680x1050.

You can always lower the resolution to WXGA+ or WXGA via display details (although image quality does suffer) if you got a WSXGA. You can also manipulate the elements of Windows to make them larger. Acutally, my laptop came pre-manipulated. The icons were larger, the title bars were larger, etc. I set mine back to stock Windows, but you dont have to.

Short of it... if you think you might ever use WSXGA, get it. If not, get something else. All the screens are the same size on a 1500, it is just a matter of how big you want things to appear on the screen.
