I'll be in the market for a notebook in less then a month and wanted to know how often dell had deals on their vostro 1500 series notebooks.

Also i was wondering how often dell had coupons for the refurb notebooks. After some research it seems that this will be the only way ill be able to get a 8600gt.
 
Yea, occasionally they will have a 25% off 1000 or 30% off 1300 for the new ones, and sometimes 10-15% coupons float around for the outlet.

What's your budget? I configured a Vostro 1510 with a C2D, 8600GT, 2GB of RAM and XP home for 800, although I didn't check any other options.
 
Actually, it looks like you can't get the 86 in the 8600gt from dell in the 1510 at all.

I might have to go for the 1700 now.
