All the news initially said that the Dell Venue Pro would be available on the 8th in Microsoft stores (which it was, with the battery/WiFi issues, and is now sold out) and November 15th at Dell.com.

After refreshing Dell.com several thousand times today, I think it's possible they changed the online release date. Has the release been pushed back to November 18th or even later?

EDIT: Oh no, looks like Dell's mobile division is having troubles :(

damn... I really wish I can see one in person! Funny, just spoke with my friend which worked on the development of WP7. Very interesting story.. especially when almost all the devs on WP7 used an iPhone :D

Looks like its on sale now but shipping 12/2. I've had mine pre ordered for awhile...really hoping it gets here before 12/6 for AT&T cancellation purposes....

I would hope they weren't using WM 6.5, since that's what they were trying to get away from.

After buying my OG Droid from their mobile store this time last year, I have to say they are a mess. They couldn't even sell someone else's phone without pissing people off. That, and it's a shady third party reseller with a Dell branded store.

What the hell...

The Streak launch was a clusterfuck, seems the whole division was a mess :(

That was a couple of months ago. Currently they're screwing up the 2.2 release for the Streak.

The release was announced on Monday (11/15), with some confusing wording of who will get it first and who won't get it until December. It was finally clarified that this update will only show up on Streaks which are bought factory unlocked (i.e. not US or UK, but a couple of European and Asian countries). So naturally (US/UK) people were mad about that for a couple of days, until Friday comes and it turns out that absolutely nobody in the world has reported that they got the update, even from the countries who supposedly should get it.

It's still not clear now what exactly is happening with the update :\

That blog is very misleading. Dell isn't exiting the mobile business, but folding the mobile division into its other divisions. This WSJ article does a better job of explaining:

A Dell spokesman said the company shut down the mobility group because phones and other devices have "grown to be more than a consumer-focused initiative." Folding these products into Dell's other units will better position the company to sell mobile devices to all of its customers, he said.
