Dell support is terrible if that's an important factor in making your decision. Stick to Asus, or Samsung and go IPS for better color quality and viewing angle.

Edit: Added

Have you considered the off-brand Auria from Microcenter if you have one near you? 27'' 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS screen.

While we're talking about anecdoctal support stories, I've had nothing but consistently good customer support from Dell for the three laptops I've owned, while Asus has provided me nothing but horrible customer service. This is why I support Dell and avoid Asus in all my purchases.

Please don't recommend it fanboy mode. Recommend it only of the person needs proper colours reproduction.
For most gamers the 144hz Asus would be much much better.

Think it comes down to what the user really wants so of course your right.

My main most demanding game gpu wise is BF3,you would need what 3 7970s or something to pull a average 144fps assuming people want to lock their fps to the refresh rate assuming they are running ultra with a little to no aa.

To damn expensive for me i think and hell once this stupid BF3 update is finished,i could see how low my lowly 7850 goes lol as i was used to fluid gameplay prior on my old 1440x900 monitor with the game maxed out ha.😀
