I'm very disappointed in general with LCD technology, I have a Samsung 245bw and the representation of black and in many cases the contrast is horrible.

The Dell 2408WFP seems like it may be what I'm looking for, and I'm willing to pay the price, but I do play games, often first person shooters, and I was wondering if anyone out there with experience concerning this monitor can put my input lag worries to rest.

I may very much enjoy my FPS games, but I am not a twitch unreal tournament competitive player.

Thanks for the input!

Take a COD4 test run for me or something! :p IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE!

Actually, that review was very helpful. I've seen a few around and none of them addressed the issue as well.

I think I may take the plunge and pick one of these up while they're on sale.

Any last minute monitor suggestions?

Supposedly the Rev A01 greatly reduced input lag on the 2408, which was reportedly horrible on the original version. There's some nice deals on those monitors with 3 year Dell Warranty for 25% off with Live Cash Back that also guarantee Rev A01. If you go through Dell you're subject to panel lottery, which isn't fun (I went through it with the 2407 until I gave up).

I'd check the LCD thread here but honestly, you're better off going to HardOCP for LCD info. They typically have excellent panel-specific threads with pictures and lots of good first-hand experience.
