and you get a new one for one bad pixel for whole warranty period... wonder if my old eyes would notice the difference in this panel from my other, plebian monitors...
Through my school I can get one for $307, very tempting :hmm:
Does this replace the u2410?
How? Do they have some deal with your university?
Yea, there is a university discount on Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Apple. Wonder if getting the one with a 4 year warranty is worth the extra $20?
not really, it's an e-ips w/ 6 bit panel

the u2410 is more "professional", the 2412 uses a lot less power though, and is a pretty decent monitor.
what the u2412 brings over standard e-ips monitors is the 24" size (instead of 22-23) and 1920x1200 res (instead of 1920x1080). it's more similar quality wise to those e-ips than the u2410 (8 bit, s-ips)
so this vs a Dell Refurbished UltraSharp 2408WFP 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor?
unsure of the differences. I probably wouldnt even be able to tell..

I was a little disappointed by the specs of this monitor. I wanted the U2410 or even HP ZR24w with an LED backlight, an all-around performer. I had almost convinced myself this was the monitor. Instead, it has a 6-bit panel, no HDMI, no speakers. The deal breaker: reports of ghosting and poor color rendering, some based on this review.

When you can purchase the ZR24w for $299 after rebate, the U2412 is comparably overpriced.

You can get the U2412 cheaper by jumping through a few hoops, but still isn't worth it. Guess I'll keep waiting.
