currently, i using 1280*768@75hz on my dell 2005fpw
i am wondering is that a possiblility i can use 85hz refresh rate @ 1280*768

if you go into your control panel for your videocard and select "only display modes the monitor will support" you wil notice anything above 60Hz is gone. (at least with all my LCD's)

Why would you pay that much money for a GORGEOUS monitor like that and not run at it's native resolution? It's a waste. Run it at 1680 x 1050.

thx for ur reply.
but i just call DELL , and they said i had better using DELL recommand refresh rates(which means 75hz)

i be able to choose from 60hz to 85hz when i un-click the "High Modes that this monitor cannot dispplay"

i really need help for this , becuz i just can't stand for 75hz refresh rate , it hurts my eyes

only on a CRT.
on an LCD, 60 looks like 100.
there is no flicker on my 2005fpw at 60Hz.

Why would you even consider runnning the 2005fp less than 1680x1050? I have a friend that had the 23" HP (F2304) and was running it @ 1280x1024 ( 1920x1200 ) is native..

You should have bought a 19" if you wanted a lesser resolution, your wasting a AWESOME panel.

i'm kindda disagree with u.
when u play games , u can find the different between 60 and 85 or 75 and 85.
otherwise , i also find the different on refresh rate while i watch DVDs

Part of the reason you are getting that flicker is most likely tied to the fact that you have it at an INSANELY low resolution for that monitor, you always need to have LCD's on their native res, and with the video card you have on the machine there is absolutely NO reason not to put it up that high.

well my 2005fpw won't even run any higher than 60 so i dunno then. (and it looks fine, because i hate low refresh rates, but only on a CRT)

Yeah, I am fairly certain the the refresh rates are only changeable on the lower resolutions on the panel, which is I why I suggest native res, because I think you will be much happier with it, and it will be easier on your eyes, since there is no interpolation, which will cause blurring.

well, i using 2 monitor on the same machine right now
1 was 19"CRT and another was 2005fpw
19"CRT as primary monitor

Ok, you are flat out NUTS, why are you wasting a high end monitor like that as a secondary to a CRT? I mean I can see maybe having it there for a secondary to the 2405 or the 24 inch HP, but to a 19 inch CRT?!? For a secondary display get a cheap 19 inch. Or better yet, just switch those 2 around.

LCD: EVERYTHING
CRT: Paperweight/2nd monitor

CS: Source has widescreen support! Use it. Why waste that money you put into your monitor? How can you spend 400+ dollars on a LCD and NOT use it as your primary monitor, especially when it is such a good performer?

I somewhat agree... although it's hard to beat a CRT for gaming, the 2005fpw does a great job with 12ms response... some games don't natively support widescreen res's but the ones that do, look great on the 2005. now if i could only get BF2 working with 1680x1050..

dang.. this is the biggest waste of a widescreen LCD panel I've ever seen!

refresh rate is irrelevant on a LCD unless you are on v-sync or something in games.. why oh WHY do you even want 1280x1024 on a wide screen panel?? On CS:S no less when it support WS natively? 😕

I run BF2 just fine at 1680x1050. I just added "+szx 1680 +szy 1050" to my shortcut. Looks awesome.

Lots of good widscreen game info here: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/index.php
