Dell UltraSharp 1905FP

I have a Viewsonic VP191b, and I know the Dell monitor won't even come close. I have used a Samsung 930B for a month before returning it and getting another and then returning it too. I know how TN panels suck and I hate their colors + super brightness.

The 1905FP is for my parents, but they definitely want clear text and good colors. I understand that this is the same panel as a 193P??? Isn't a Samsung 193P+ supposed to compete with the VP191b because they are both PVA Overdrive panels? Dunno. But then the 1905FP is so much cheaper too (than both teh 930B and VP191b) Hmmm. What to do?

I don't know too many details about it, but the main complaint I hear is that it basically sucks for gaming - lots of motion blur, slow response times. But, if this is for your parents (and I don't know many parents who are gamers 😉), it should be good for text applications. 🙂

They have them in the labs here now... good for windows/office usage at the least. I couldn't imagine any parents complaining about a 19" LCD. 🙂 They'd probably be amazed at a 15". They never like a cranked resolution though, so hopefully they are cool with using 1280x1024, some might find that too small I think. I had to convince my mom that she needed to run 1024x768 once I gave them my 900NF... haha, no way were they gonan use 800x600, that iS HUGE on a 19".

My mom's at 15" 1024x768. 15" LCD. 17" would be 1280x1024. THAT would be too small. 19" should be about the same. I'm telling them to stay at native resolution. Plus, if anything needs to be changed, you can increase text size in Windows.
