DELL UltraSharp 1704FPV 17" LCD --- $296.65

Dell seems to always be running the types of deals where if you wait *just a little longer* they pay off and reward you for your patience. I've been checking out the DELL UltraSharp 1704FPV 17" LCD, and the price is now $296.65 + free shipping as of this morning, down from $314 yesterday. A friend of mine bought one of these for $330 just a week and a half ago, so they've really been dropping the prices.

I've heard good things about this LCD, though the 25ms response time is my only caveat before buying it.

Incidently, if anyone has a Dell LCD coupon or money off coupon they'd like to share with me, I'd be eternally grateful. 😀

Nice, if someone can get it a little lower I'll be buying one for my parents. This is why: Port(s) Total ( Free ) / Connector Type: 15-pin D-sub miniature / DVI-D / 4 x USB 2.0

The dual DVI and VGA ports is a nice feature so you either have your choice or can hook up two computers to the one monitor. The 4-port USB 2.0 hub is just icing on the cake.

I have this monitor at work and for the most part it is ok

However I find the narow vertical viewing angle to be a problem when using portrait mode. Dell ratest the vertical view ange as: Image Max V-View Angle: ±89°, however this is not what I'm experiencing. A few degrees left of center and the image quality goes way down (again only a problem in portrait mode).

I use this one for home.
it rocks!!!
use the dvi connection and with the usb ports, I now surf more than I ever did before....
btw, I got this for $241 about a month ago, so I would def. wait a few more days for the right deal to come along.....

does anyone know where to go for the LCD monitor test?
I know there is a site somewhere...

I got in on it too with the Dellf and other $30 coupon a couple weeks ago for a bit less. I'm very happy too! I wish we had 16x12 17" or 19" LCDs but until that day, this suits me fine. Anyone know the response time on this monitor? I didn't buy it for gaming but I'm still curious.
