Getting a pretty serious gaming rig soon, just need to find a proper screen for this

Anyone used the u3014 in gaming mode? How does the color look like with this mode? Any other 30" you'd recommand?

thank you

The Dell U3014 is a good monitor. I have the Dell U3011; actually 3 in Portrait mode. :)

If you are just going to purchase a high-end monitor, I would recommend waiting for a 4K monitor that can do 60Hz @ 4K (right now, only 30Hz @ 4K is possible unless you use Eyefinity/Surround).

If you are sticking with just one monitor, get a 4K monitor. If you are going for NVidia Surround/AMD Eyefinity, get 3 Dell U3014s and call it a day (much higher resolution than 4K btw).

Current Dell 3014 have some major problems, you might want to wait for new revision before spend that kind of money on it. Visit the dell form for more info.

I have a 3011 and its one of the best purchases I've ever made. IPS is great and whatever response time I'm sacrifising to get pictures quality is not an issue.

To the above poster who complains about "major problems". I have no idea what that might be and if you are going to make a post about it, I suggest you also tell us what it is. Just doing what you're doing is not good forum etiquette.

U3011 is awesome for me aswell I just wish they made a 30" glossy IPS 120hz monitor with .5mm bezels.

^Glossy is overrated IMO. Much better to game without glare and reflections. :)

I love my U3011. I believe the U3014 offers lower power usage and faster response time.

Current dell 3014 has a H-line problem, I am looking to buy this monitor myself. Here is the link to dell forum in which Dell support confirm the problem and is under investigation.
