I recently bought Dell U2711, its not in warranty It started giving the artifacts which is common with U2711. Today, display completely went black, now atrifacts/flickering is what i can only see.

Here is a video of similar issue, mine was just way severe.

A guy replied on youtube saying:
on mine it was oxidation between gold and tin connectors of the black sheathed multi wire cable (larger one of the two) coming of the scaler board (those two cables drive the panel itself).... remove stand (torx15), split bezel plastic (be very careful around switch area, as ribbon cables are delicate), remove rear plastic housing only, remove 140x56mm metal access cover, unplug black sheathed connectors from scaler board, clean with contact cleaner

According to this guy its not a big issue. I want to know if anyone know if this guy is right and this issue can be fixed at home.

Thanks!
