Hey all, member here for some time now. Always read here for sound advice.

I got my new u2410 dell today, i have to say, i could not be happier. I do to much reading into reviews and tend to look for the negative stuff to often. I went with more good then bad on this purchase.

Old gamer here that is into photography now, and wanted color correct more than anything. I dual boot XP and ubuntu.

Funny, ubuntu required nothing, it just did proper resolution. XP was happy after a find drivers here. Anyhow, both O/S are happy, so am I.

For games, I tried LFD2 single player and some Quakelive, both seemed fine.

It's the cats ass, for me. I had read a few negative issues with this monitor, but as said, search and you will find.

So, not trying to sell this monitor, just a mini review. It is good.

I had a similarly good experience with this HP ZR24W. IPS is a beautiful thing. It was a little shaky in SLI starting out getting the color adjusted, but once I got it locked in it was just amazing. And the difference overall in build quality also, just a solid piece of equipment compared to the usual plasticky TN panel you get at Best Buy. I would imagine the U2410 is like that, too.

good to hear you got you money's worth as well. your monitor is held in just as high regard as this one (perhaps better). My previous was a Dell 2007wp ?, can't recall exact model, but it was IPS as well. Excellent quality.
I went with the Dell a 2nd time, i feel happy with it.

Overjoyed with booting ubuntu and it just worked as it should.

I've always had TN monitors, and since my freelance is kicking up (Design/Development) I decided to pick up two at tax time,.. third coming soon.

I too looked for everything negative. But I use a 2709W at work, and even with its huge pixel size its still an amazing display, so I bit (their return policy is amazing, right?). But I have zero plans of returning them.

I mainly use the left in Portrait when coding and I have my Xbox 360 hooked up via Component for gaming on the side.

There is some IPS glow, but I have to actually move around to see it. The AG coating also isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
