Dell TrueMobile 2300 Access Point Mode?

Has anyone had any luck getting a TrueConnect 2300 into Access Point mode?

I turned on Access Point mode internet stopped working and it was still assigning IP addresses. I turned off DHCP and nothing changed except that release/renew stopped working. I tried setting windows to use the IP of the wired router I want to be routing everything, but it wouldn't work. At one point, the wired router showed one of the computers directly in its setup, but it still would not connect to anything.

I don't even need the wireless at the moment, so that's not even the issue. I just need it functioning as a switch.

Anything I'm missing? Anyone get this to work?

If all you need is the switch then the role of the wireless side of it isn't relevant. You probably want to elaborate on how your setup, device by device and how your connecting all the nodes on your LAN but if you have a seperate router serving that function then just disable DHCP on the 2300 and do not use the WAN port. If I had to guess that is what I'd say your doing from the sounds of it. Only use the LAN side of the 2300. If you don't have auto MDI/MDX on either your primary routers switch or the 2300 then you might need to use a crossover cable to uplink the Dell

I didn't realize it mooted the WAN port. I put it on one of the LAN ports and then it worked as it's supposed to. Thanks 🙂
