Hello all,

I think I recently upgraded my firmware on my Dell Truemobile 1150 to 8.72 using the hack that is widely available on the net, but I don't know for sure. What is the easiest way to tell?

Also, I have read that once the firmware upgrade happens, the card should be re-labelled to an Orinoco in the Device Manager (mine wasn't). I am skeptical, but I wanted to make sure.

Also, what drivers are everyone using for the Dell card with the upgraded firmware? Dell or Agere or something else?

Thanks.

Well. I did this and it killed my card, so I cannot tell you.

Sorry to hear that. My card seemed fine after I upgraded the firmware, but I haven't done much testing. Preparing for a camping trip this weekend.

Well it is funny you asked this, because the answer seems to be in the client manager. There was a button that created a text file with cards details in it. One of the entries was the firmware version in the card. Sorry I can't be more specific, but it was before the heavy drinking over the July 4th weekend. :)

No idea. This question is still open (although my card is still labelled a Dell Truemobile).

I am using the Dell drivers. I tried to use another set, but had no luck. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I ended up with the Dell ones.
