Jobs for Americans in the tech sector! :Q

This is Texas & basically unskilled labor, it won't be americans.

routinely putting parts together isn't what i'd call a tech job, regardless of what the parts are. looks like dell wants to look like it cares for the american people

You're right. Suicide. Dell will be sunk because of this plant. Their world leading sales can't hope to compensate for this facility. Goodbye Dell.

Sweet, now a bunch of out of work software engineers can get work for $7.50 an hour assembling computers! 😉

It obviously is .. otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. Dell is a pretty smart company, overall. I don't see them doing something incredibly stupid.

Dell would also have to dedicate teams to design servers and PCs to accommodate AMD-based computers, which adds complexity and costs. AMD cannot produce chips in the same volume as Intel, Rollins said.

O whatever, go AMD!!!

I don't know anything about what is involved in Dell's decision, but if it isn't all about finances, then I applaud a company for actually doing something for communities rather than the bottom dollar. More $$ != right.

It's going to be Mexican illegals and H1-B Indians assembling a computer made out of Taiwanese parts in America.😛

Even if the money goes to "non-americans", which itself is debateable, most of the money that they earn will stay in the US economy.

and dell isnt stupid, they wouldnt do this unless it made cents
