I have a friend with an older Dell PII-300 that his wife uses for card games and such. She's had some Hoyle card games for a very long time and used them on this PC with zero problems until now. Lately the PC reboots as soon as she selects the full window mode. It hasn't and doesn't crash with any other program.

The PC is severall hours away so I can't do much but listen on the phone. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this particular event?

I thought the memory or card might be goind bad, but since it only does it in this one game I'm not ready to find fault there just yet.

I tried to lead them to the event viewer and they said nothing was listed regarding the crash. Next I had them uncheck the Automatic Restart option but haven't heard if she has tried the game again or received a crash\stop error.

The video card is the OEM nVidia GF2-64 meg and the PC is on WinXP. It's been this way for over a year and everything worked fine. Also... they reinstalled the OS and updated the driver but it still crashed.

Thanks in advance.

They did all that for one single game crashing?

Try newer video card drivers. If that doesn't work, did the vid card come with the computer? If it didn't, the power supply may not be sufficient.

Yup. All that for one game. :Q She's an older lady who plays her Hoyle games and reads email. I thought about the PSU also. Makes more sense than a bad card. They tried the latest drivers with no luck. I had heard a while back that some older cards had trouble with the latest drivers. From what I can tell it crashes with the old or the new.

Thanks!
