Dell ST2420L or another economy 24" for general purpose?

My mom has asked for a new monitor for Christmas. She has stated that the text on some of the websites she uses is too small on her old 17" CRT and she wants a bigger monitor. I told her that due to the widescreen craze, the only way to get a monitor with noticably more vertical viewing area is to go for a 24"

Since her computer is 10 years old and fairly slow I have decided I might as well get her an entirely new computer. The offering from Dell for a cheaper 24" is the ST2420L.

Does anyone know if this is a decent monitor, or should I just buy the computer without a monitor and order that separately? I have been looking at some of the ASUS monitors on newegg which seem to be popular.

Her computer is right next to a window so glare could be a problem.

CTRL+scroll forward on the mouse wheel if she wants bigger text on websites.

She uses the computer for work and the company she works for has some screwed up websites, she has said for some reason the usual tricks are not working for her.

Anyway, the Dell monitor is selling for ~$210
