A friend of mine is thinking about getting this monitor. However he is using a rather old Sony Vaio that uses integrated gfx. He does NOT game. Just casual web surfing, email, listening the music, chatting etc. How will having an integrated chip effect the way he uses this monitor? He won't be able to set 1680x1050 right?

I tried googling for this lcd and there is currently no information or reviews about it! Is this something new that just came out?

This question has been asked several dozen times. Using Display Properties - Advanced - List All Modes, check what resolutions the machine supports. Uncheck "Hide modes this monitor can't display" so the list isn't getting filtered through the current monitor's capabilities.

Integrated graphics may support additional resolutions after a system BIOS update.
