Dell ships malware-infected server motherboards

seriously ? how would this not effect the bios in a manner that would prevent operation. Aside from storing it on the bios I just don't see how this is feasable or even problematic ?

This malware does NOT affect the BIOS. It's debatable whether it's even firmware.

Essentially, some mobos that Dell ships have an integrated flash drive pre-loaded with system diagnostic and setup tools and drivers.
A minor well known, worm (W32.Spybot) got included along the tools in one batch. The infected exe is not autorun unless you manually run the infected tool. The worm is also detected by all anti-malware tools.
