Dell Server cannot pass memory check

Got a dell 1600sc server that cannot pass any memory check software.
Replaced memory with brand new memory, and memory from working 1600sc server and still failed the test. Replaced the processor from a working 1600sc server and it still failed the test.

The server is out of warranty so I cannot just get replacement part from dell.
What do you think is the culprit ? Could it be the motherboard ?? or power supply ?
Could power supply cause computer to not pass any memory test software ?

Thanks

Motherboard is certainly a possibility, either some generic flakeyness, or damaged connectors. Power supply might well do it too, if the voltages are drooping; but I'm not sure how likely that is, if the RAM is the first component feeling the droop.

I think I am going to try to switch the ps from a working server to this one just to make sure that power supply is good.

i have an old 2300 and it hasnt liked my memory from day one..... i just threaten it with its life and tell it i dont give sh*t if its ECC memory or not.... lol

when was the server made? we talking about ddr or sdram?
