Mac basher!

It's well worth the price; better than anything else out there. And I'd much rather use Firewire any day of the week than start transferring via USB today and finishing in December.

I like Macs, but that device is pricey (as Mac stuff usually is). I'd get an older generation nomad jukebox if I was in the mkt for a thing like that.

Are you kidding? Nomad Jukeboxes aren't even in the same league as an iPod. They're HUGE. Plus, firewire rules, especially since it charges the iPod's battery as well. That said, I'm personally a big fan of the Nomad Jukebox Zen, and will be purchasing one as soon as they become more widely available. I definitely think it's the best price/performance/features combo out there for a small HD-based MP3/WMA player. :)

Available at buy.com, but on backorder. I think amazon has it in stock. It's $349 MSRP, with a $50 rebate. Fair price for 20GB, IMO. Half the price of the 20GB iPod.

I wouldn't consider spending over $100, or so, for just an MP3 player. But considering the iPod also doubles as a Firewire HDD I just might have to pick one up. :)

$400 for an MP3 player? Sh!t, for that kinda money, who needs an portable audio device, i'd rather pay a neighborhood kid to follow along beside me carrying a boombox. I'll get better sound and still have money left over.

No biggie. Dell has been selling products from their competitors, like PDA's and network switches, from their store for awhile now. Of course, Dell has also released their OWN networking equipment, and they have their own PDA's coming soon.

Hmmm... it makes you wonder, doesn't it? Might Dell be planning on making their own MP3 players, too? If so, you heard it here first! :)
