it is an ok deal. last month you can get the sc420 with 2.8gh and 80gig hard and 256ddr2 for around 300.

Only so-so, particularly with all the recent deals on DDR2 DIMMs (1gb for <$100). At least this way you get ECC, if that matters to you.

That Pentium 520's getting a bit long in the tooth for gaming.

Better deal for a home network server would be the base celeron config, with +10 for a 80gb HD, and add the free second 80gb HD. You've then got a 160gb, quiet, stable fileserver with a 1 year warranty for $310 :)
