There a thread under monitors, etc with great reviews and comparisons on LCD's...

I just paid $640 for the Dell 1900fp a month ago... CRAP! But a GREAT monitor and awesome for gamming... Love it!

Anyone aware of a stackable coupon that would help out? I'm hoping to nock it down a little more so I can justify Visa-fying it. My current 19" CTX has been good to me over the years, but it's hogging valuable desk space ;).

Cheers

Has anyone who owns this monitor played counter strike, or quake, or unreal? Im looking for a new monitor but i want one thats gonna look good for when half life 2 comes out. Is this a good deal at 500 dollars or should i wait to get a different kind? Owners of this monitor please help!

I too would like to know how this monitor performs for games. I play Counter-Strike like it's my job and want to get an LCD that can handle that and Half-Life 2 with no ghosting.

It seems like the response times on LCDs must suck for Counter-strike. Wouldn't they effectively increase your ping by ~30 ms?

I hope Planar releases a 19" LCD with 16 ms response. I'll eat that up like peanut butter on Brooke Burke.

"The Planar PL191M 19-inch Multimedia LCD Monitor features a new, sleek bezel design and both analog and digital video inputs." from Dell.

I can confirm that is has a DVI input. But honestly, I've tested it many times and I can't see a difference between the DVI and the analog on my Radeon 8500. For the guys that PMed me, yes, the brightness is uniform, but I don't play FPSes so I can't comment on ghosting. I know from previous threads that some people have said there was no ghosting but others said there was, so I guess it depends on how picky you are.

I caved and got one. Thanks hamburglar for the post. I hope its better than the dell ultrasharp 1800fp which i held out on. 539 including tax shipped to texas. Good thing shipping's free.

Edit: Oh yeah how big is the bezel? Never went for a 2000fp because of how much desk space they took up.

The 1800fp is what Ive been holding out on too....Anyone know how they compare besides 1 more inch bigger on the Planar? Also from experience, not specs.

For anyones info....I got the ultrasharp 1800fp ($450 on ebay brand new with 3 year warr.) a little over 6 months ago and it's a great lcd. I'm not a hardcore gamer but ut2k3 and bf1942 look awesome on it. If the 19'' is anything like the 1800 then this is a pretty good deal.
