Dell say's they'll honor all $200 rebates!!! (WD 200G HD)

After further consideration, we have determined that the $200 in rebates will be honored on eligible purchases of 200 GB Western Digital hard drives ordered between September 25, 2003 and September 27, 2003. For anyone who ordered this drive and received an email or call indicating we would be canceling the order, please disregard our prior communication on this issue. We value our customers and will keep any eligible orders in process at the original online purchase price.

For customers who may have cancelled their orders due to the initial message posting and wish to reinstate their order, please respond back to the US_DELL_NOTIFY@DELL.COM mailbox. Due to the overwhelming response to this promotion the Western Digital hard drive will have extended lead time before the item ships. If you purchased an eligible drive, once you receive it, you will need to submit rebate form(s). We will be posting revised instructions for submitting rebate requests and will be extending the submission deadline

If you would still like to cancel your order please contact us at the US_DHS_NOTIFY@DELL.COM. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you and thank you for your patience in this matter.

Post a link to the order status. I got an email today saying that they will cancel the order becuase they cannot honor both rebates.

Interesting. My email said something to the opposite effect that only one of the rebates would be honored and if I'd like to cancel my order I could do so by sending an email to some address.

You've got to love Dell - they actually spend time "considering" this kind of issues and in the end decided to take a loss and keep us customers happy. 🙂 My order hasn't shipped so I was disappointed with the first email, but really saw no reason to be mad - $20+ for a 200GB hard drive would be super nice to have but you know someone is losing a lot of money on it. Anyways, I guess everyone should be happy now, since they set the window to 9/25-9/27, that pretty much covered all the orders I would think. 😉
 
It seems that even if you cancelled your order you placed during 9/25-9/27, you can still get it back.
So for those who cancelled theired orders in doublt, give it a try.
 
My order was re-instated without any problem.

Woo hoo!

Now I just have to hope my kids haven't colored all over the rebate forms, invoice copies, etc. that I gave them this morning after I cancelled the order (ROFL).

what are the invoice copies? Did you print that right after you placed the order?

Deal of the year! I got two of these! Used eBates too ... drives work out to be about $4 each for me 🙂

lucky b-stard, i was gonna buy two for raid, but decided one was risky enough, now i regret only getting 1, still happy about that one though, GREAT DEAL!!! gonna BVG it too to get it for FREE or make money
