This might be the lowest price it has ever been. I've been eyeing this monitor for a while, so I'm really tempted to buy one to replace my 11 year old 2407WFP.

Yes, it's a TN panel, but after calibration the color accuracy and black levels improve dramatically. A comparable IPS panel would be an extra $300. If you sit off-center from your monitor, this is probably not for you.

    Good review here:

I checked this out earlier at Best Buy. Like you said, it's not IPS, but still looks pretty dang good.

I've got one and I enjoy it. The colors do suck out of the box, but when calibrated it's pretty decent. I will say that it does not wake from sleep on my system and has to be power cycled. It also rarely gets into a weird state where it just cycles a full screen of red, then green, then blue pixels over and over. I'd still recommend it for gaming.

How often do those issues happen? Do you always expect it when you wake your monitor, or is it just occasionally? That would be a deal breaker for me. They have it in stock at my local store, but after looking at it, I wanted to "sleep on it" for a few hours before buying.

It fails to wake from sleep 100% of the time. Some people have had success changing BIOS options and monitor options (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19670404). I haven't messed with it because I'm lazy and I just turn it off and on.

The color cycle thing has happened maybe four times in the six months I've had it.

Well I'm glad you came along and posted your experience. You saved me a return, because that would be a deal killer for me. Thanks!

Thank you very much Chaotic42. I too was almost ready to pull the trigger on this. That sleep problem is a deal breaker for me. My system goes to sleep quite often so having to power cycle it all the time would be frustrating.

Hey, glad I finally have some relevant info about hardware for everyone. :p

Mine was manufactured in March of 2017, so they may have fixed it on later models, but I doubt those would be the ones on sale.

My Best Buy only had A04 revision monitors, while A07 is the latest and greatest. I was all set to buy one but that turned me away.

I'm sure they fixed it by now... I got one from Amazon when it was 399. Not sure what version it is, because I haven't built out the PC yet, but, it's getting really close. Thanks for the heads up.
