Dell re-install questions

not sure which forum would be the best but this does say pre-built so ....

this girl downloaded kazaa and got a lot of spyware. she had a guy supposedly try to fix it and all he did was install winxp pro over the oem winxp home. some things no longer work correctly and it's a mess.

does dell have their oem software on the hard drive (only a C drive is listed but i know some oem companies have the oem software on a separate partition) or is it on the CD that comes with the system? i would like to format the hard drive and get rid of the winxp MBR mess that's present and reinstall her oem system. any ideas?

Our XPS, Inspiron, and Dimension pc's/laptops all came with separate disks for that kind of stuff.

Just check the HD sizes or for hidden partitions.

I usually go the CD route.

BTW, I've had that happen before. I hate it when people "help" by doing that....
