we own 2 dells, one is a laptop and one is a 1.8a from before i really knew how to build computers etc.

but so here goes.

On April 4th of 2004 we began having problems with our current Trinitron monitor. so we had it replaced under warranty. Now, the new monitor has begun to be extremely blurry with text. So sunday night, i call up and get a tech support guy. nice guy, understanding etc, not american but understandable. however i waited for 30 min to talk to him. that sucked. but so we are trying to figure out what the problem is with the monitor, is it the Vid card, or monitor yada yada yada.

go through bios reset to factory standards etc. then i say hey, i could hook it up to my fathers laptop. do that. and bam, the damn laptop wont give a video signal to the monitor. the monitor knows that its connected (there was not a "no vga signal", and the on button was yellow) but there was no display. so im like wtf another problem.

but so i pull my moms work laptop out and it displays fine but the blurry monitor is still blurry as fvck, so we determined it was the Monitor not the vid card. so the dudes like ok, gimme the serial# from the back. i tell him yada yada, and while im back there i notice the January 2002 manuf date. i go to myself, great thats gunna be bullsh1t. sure enough, its out of warranty even though we have had the monitor for less than a year.I got screwed on the monitor

but then i say hey, you can do lappys too? so we try and figure out why the vid card isnt displaying, but of course i have to have a SPECIFIC cd to determine that, he cant just say hey its not working.

however we also had the screen on the laptop and the video card replaced when we had previous issues with that lappy. so something is fuxored with it too and i cant find the specific cd.

that just pisses me off.

why dont you warranty the damn product from when it was SHIPPED TO THE CUSTOMER. or atleast let the customer know when he receives the product that its REFURBISHED.

Cliff Notes
1: 30 min on hold
2: monitor blurry
3: CS rep good english not to difficult to understand
4: Find out that lappy has bad vga out and wont display on monitor
5: Monitor was determined to be bad
6: monitor manufactured in Jan. 2002
7: Received monitor in April of 04
8: dell wont honor warrantee since its from date of manufacturing.
9: lappy cant be figured out because we need to run tests to figure out if the port is bad or not
10: im pissed off.
11: i think parents are going to buy a 2001fp or 2005fp.

12: now im really pissed off cuz im still stuck on a samsung 700NF

If you spoke like the above gibberish, I imagine the CSR had no fvcking clue what you were talking about.
Additionally I don't think you know what you are talking about or know what you are doing if you didn't realize you bought a refurbished monitor, or am I not understanding what you said(?).

So they sent you this monitor due to an issue with a previous monitor that was under warranty? Can't they look up this transaction and check the warranty period of the original monitor.

I must be missing why this is so complicated.

Hey, maybe you should've jumped around a little bit more...you probably didn't have the guy confused enough to send you a new monitor for no reason.

when it pains your eyes to read the text on the monitor, something is wrong.

im sitting here looking at it and when i go back to my original monitor its like god shined down on me and said "hey, your eyes wont fail you with this monitor, just the bad one'"

Was it always like that, or suddenly get blurry? Is it an LCD? Did you try turning on Clear Type (or whatever it is called)? Did you try various resolutions and/or refresh rates? What about video card drivers? You haven't explained much.

you're having all these problems b/c you touch yourself at night. That and you always type MIKE which is so gay and retarded and all it does is show that you think you're cool by writing MIKE.

btw, that 10,000th post is by far THE BEST ever.

Did it suddenly happen out of the blue? From my experiences I remember I had one monitor where one day there were various horizontal lines and poor display. Eventually got around to fixing it--it was the video card.

i never really use the computer i normally have my own computer.

but if i recall when we first got the monitor it was blurry, but not horrible. and now it has become down right unbearable almost.

unless you must be at it. and i must.

If it was always like that, frankly you should have made the above call the second you got that replacement monitor in the first place.

YOU have to be vigilante with things like this, and not way after the fact.
