I am thinking of buying this used Dell machine. Here are the specs
Precision 530
2 matching Pentium Xeon 1.4 GHz CPU & 2 fan kits
MB incl SCSI,sound & LAN
(1) 4x AGP Pro110 slot
(3) 32-bit 33MHz PCI slots
(2) 64-bit 66MHz PCI slots

I have never used Dells before. The comp doesnt come with hard drive or any cards. Do you see any problems/confilcts with buying this and adding needed parts? I mean does dell do something so you can only use dell parts etc?

I've had good luck with Dell workstations here at work. We have about 8 of them and over the 3 1/2 years I've been IT manager here, I've only had one major issue with a dell workstation (precision 420's and 360's.) The motherboard crapped out and Dell was here the same day to replace it.

You should be able to throw any ole SCSI drive on there. (Make sure you get the correct one IE: Ultra Wide 160 or what ever)

I'd say go for it...depending on cost.
