Dell Poweredge server boot problem (NT 4.0)

Hi all,

We have a DELL Poweredge 4400 server with 5 SCSI hard drives, SCSI CD drive and SCSI Tape drive ( We are not running it as a server right now). We tried to install MATLAB and after the installation we were prompted to restart the computer. After the restart, it goes through BIOS, checks the hard drives, cd drive and tape drive and freezes at that point instead of starting the operating system (NT 4.0). We tried reinstalling the software and all other possible solutions but it just does not boot.

Any suggestions ?

Did you install the SCSI controller drivers during the installation BEFORE it loaded the regular drivers? You must press F6 before the text part of the installation to load the drivers.

Otherwise it'll do exactly what you're describing.
