Dell Poweredge SC440 Power Button issue with XP

I got in on a Hot Deal on the Dell SC440 for $223 delivered, sweet box. No OS.

Problem: After I put XP Pro SP2 on it, the power button was doing hard shutdowns.

Fix: I went into Device Manager > System Devices and uninstalled the ACPI Fixed Feature Power Button, which was the first item in my System Devices list. Reboot should be all you need, although I logged off and back on first, then Start Button > Restart

Voila!

Nother problem was Java games like http://games.yahoo.com/console/dm had a timer problem (dual core??) and I had to add a Java runtime parameter of -XX:+ForceTimeHighResolution to Control Panel > Java ? Java Applet Runtime Parameters
