"Today, I challenge every PC maker to join us in providing free recycling for every customer in every country you do business, all the time ? no exceptions," Dell said. "It's the right thing to do for our customers. It's the right thing to do for our earth."

There is nothing wrong with recycling... as long as it's profitable and reuse doesn't cause more pollution than simply manufacturing new.

..they need to do something. I see old monitors and computers dumped all over the streets. Especially bad on garbage day.

Leave those things by the curb and they'll be gone in no time. People dig this stuff up all the time.

..there seems to be a crowd of people that do the dumping and another bunch of scavengers. I'll find the remains of a pc with the powersupply missing or RAM. Ya still end up with something left around that nobody wants. especially old crt monitors.
