Hello, I am using a friend's dell p1110 21 inch trinitron monitor now, and i LOVE it. I was interested in Dell monitors because they are a good price for the quality, and I couldnt afford a Sony trinitron. But, this is the question. I was looking for a 19 incher, not a 21..so could i expect the same/proportional quality out of the p991?

If so, im definitely buying it instead of a sony...thanks!

I would have to say.....YES! I have a 19" IBM P96 with Sony's FD Trinitron (same tube as the P991) and I love this thing.

I have both P991 and a Sony G400 and the picture quality is identical (to me). I think they use the same tube but Sony has additional things like support for two inputs etc. I like the Dell's controls better.

I have owned a Dell P991 since October 2000 and it's hands down THE BEST MONITOR I have ever laid eyes on. I just wish it were smaller, lighter and didn't cost as much other than that it's bright, beautiful and crisp.

I'll be keeping this baby for another 3-5 years until I can get an 18" digital LCD for under $700-$800.
