DELL P991 19" Monitor (Trinitron) Problems

Anyone else here order one of these and get a blue spot on the bottom left corner?? Just curious. Seems like every sony tube product I buy has some kinda problem on the bottom edges (on my Wega it's yellow on the bottom left and exchanged it 5 times). At work we have 21" Sun Monitors with the same FD Trinitron tube (except bigger) and none of them have that problem, then again they're made in Japan.

Its possibly your speakers that has magnetized your beloved Trinitron. I've got the same problem with my Compaq MV700.Try placing your speakers farther apart. The really bad thing is that i don't know how to demagnetize a crt. Does anyone else?

Very likely power lines or such. If 5 TVs gave you the same problems either a) they gave you8 the same TV 5 times or b) there is outside interference.

Try rotating the monitor 45 degrees at a time, and look for improvement.

Is there by any chance a "Purity" setting in your monitor's on-screen controls? I have a Viewsonic PF790 (Mitsubishi tube) and the lower right-hand corner of the monitor was a sickening green when I first fired it up. Luckily I had heard about this "Purity" setting and was able to get rid of it.

Maybe worth a look....

Yup, I believe you should be able to fix it using a setting like "landing" which is on my G520. Else, the bluish spot is probably caused by something hurting the monitor--most likely NOT due to your PC speakers.
