Dell p3-500 laptop=> 'i' key doesnt work unless i bang it HARD

JEDI

Lifer
after a half dozen times hitting it hard w/a pen, the 'i' key will finally work. i could then just press it like normal.

Why does the key not work untill i hit it w/enuf force to break steel? and then why does it work like normal till i shut down? (hm..never tried a warm boot to see what happens.)

and is there a fix?

I don't think there is a better way besides replacing it.

Check eBay, you should be able to find the keyboard for your laptop for less than $30. And its fairly easy to put the new one in.
