YOu sure it was a gen 4? I haven't seen any gen 4's under refurb, only the gen 3's are there.

shipping is 99 and there is a 99 dollar discount to nullify it at checkout

dont forget to visit OP's dell site for that 15% off coupon. it saved me 160 bucks and i almost bought that thing without that before coming to AT for some coupon codes... thanks again :)

Howdy.

I have not dealt with Dell in a while, so bear with me.

Can I swap out the HDD with another and still be able to install windows and such? I have heard that lately HPAQ has "watermarked" their BIOS so that only a factory HDD will work, I was wondering if Dell had gone the same way.

Thanks!!

nope. i have a 8400, had a 8300, and just bought a new XPS3 and (awaiting for an XPS4) all swappable.

i've never heard of bios-locking HDD's. that just doesnt make sense.

Especially if you look at dell, they buy all types of OEM's, maxtor SATA, WD Raptors, Seagate's, etc. hard to lock if you ask me...

Does this automatically pop up, or is there another code for the $99 discount?

Thanks!

P4 550 3.40Ghz
1 GB DDR2 RAM @ 400Mhz (booo...but oh well)
Nvidia 6800 256MB video card (most likely NU but i don't care)
16x DVD-RW double layer burner
16x DVD-ROM drive
250GB 7200 RPM SATA drive
integrated sound but i've got a chaintech av710 to pop in there

3.0 ghz with 80 GB 7200 rpm SATA, DVD rom, 512 mb for $460 w/ shipping.

Hey, I guess this will get me through to next year with the dual core A64's, I just hope the stock PSU with the Dell will handle a 6800 GT.

ROFL.. you kinda do have to check it often so yeah u have to live online :D

i find the best systems at night, and people say dell refresh their stocks database on the 50th minute of the hour. im not so sure i see things pop up at different times (though it might be expired carts from other ppl)

Picked up two 1150s, one with a P4 2.8 and one with a Celly 2.6, both under $500. Not bad.

GSHOCK, Free shipping is only available on $499+ Dimensions. I was going to pick up a Dimension 2400 ($181 after coupons) to replace my home firewall computer, but the $100 shipping fee kills the deal for me.

There seems to be some confusion.

Is shipping free or not?

Edit: Looks like while I was typing, MisterE was posting! Thanks for clearing up the confusion! Paul
