Rich ended up taking #2... the way the outlet works (dell.com/outlet) is you can throw things into your shopping cart as good deals come up, but you have to either buy it, or keep your cart active, otherwise whatever is in there get's thrown back to the wolves... when I threw back #1 it was gone before I could refresh the screen! So I had started checking out #2 to keep for myself when Rich LMK that he would take it.

If there's a real interest for machines at this price, I'll post the ones that I find, but I'd need commitments quickly as I can't spend all day refreshing my shopping cart! lol...

I understand. I just bought one of the refurbs for $279 or $289 with about the same setup as your #2 system. Think it also had a floppy. With tax and shipping extra of course.

I was going to build some new systems to replace older ones for my kids but I can't come close to these prices ... especially ones like you found, GeoffS. ;)

lol... me neither... there are folks that have scripts running to gobble anything under $xxx up... gotta be fast on that trigger!
