thinking of picking up new box.
they have 8500 model with good i7 proc, mem, etc and weak vid card for about 600ish
and the Aurora r4 with good i7 proc mem , better vid (usually 560 ti) for about 1000.
was thinking of just getting the 8500 and picking up a 660gtx should still be less then Aurora (and case is smaller, etc)
Is there anything else in the Aurora model that might make it worth paying more for ?
And yes i know i could build better etc etc, done that for years just dont care to waste time and troubleshoot etc anymore. been picking up dells for long time and havent had any issues with them (crosses fingers :) )

let me know your thoughts etc

thx

Wow, 20% off XPS with GXV$MWKN3591V$

I'd personally save the $ and go with an i5 XPS 8500, unless you're going to be doing something like video encoding or rendering that'll take advantage of the hyperthreading. Use the extra money to get the SSD that's on sale for today only at $160 in Hot Deals.

It's sold out at newegg but 160 at amazon at the moment.

R4 is stupid.

I got a XPS 8300 on close out at microcenter and added a better video card. So far I am very happy with it, except that it is not as quiet as I expected. Hard drive is kind of noisy and either the cpu or gpu fan is definitely audible in a quiet room. I expected it to be faster in gaming, but I am surprised how much faster it seems in day to day use as well (moved up from an E4500).
