Dell now providing OEM Vista 64-bit discs to 32-bit users free.

Found this while looking up something else.

Looks like if you have a system that is still under warranty with Dell, and purchased it with Vista 32-bit (for some time Dell never offered 64-bit configured systems), you can now request Dell to ship you a 64-bit OEM disc to use on your system.

Didn't see it posted elsewhere, so if it's a repost, oops.

First I've seen it. Good news for Dell owners. Hopefully they'll all order x64 disks, so at least they'll have SOMETHING for when their hard drive fails and they need to re-install Vista.

Edit: Somebody PM'd me and asked me not to "Dell-bash". That wasn't my intent. ALL hard drives fail, and I strongly recommend that anybody who buys a new PC acquire an OS Install CD/DVD for it, along with, of course, making ongoing backups of their important data.
