Posting additional details would be helpful...

For those interested, these don't have centrinos, they have the mobile P4s which are heavy and loud...

you can customize it to a P4

Yeah and you'll still have a unit with only 256 MB of RAM, a 30 GB HDD (what happened to 40 GB??) and no Burner of any sort. Plus you'll now be paying $678. Lukewarm at best. Adding another 256 MB of RAM, upping to (bare minimum) 40 GB HDD and a CD/DVD burner adds another $200.

If you have anything better, I would appriciate a link, since I'm on the market for one.

I don't know about you people but I would not buy a Dell to save my life. I can build my own computer better than they can make it. But not a bad deal OP. :)

Care to give me the specs of the laptop that you would build for $548?

You build notebooks? :light:

Yeah, warm deal but it's listed as such. This place seems to be getting worse & worse on tearing apart deals just for the sake of it. :cookie:

It's a refurb....but pretty nicely equipped for $649.00 after rebate.
eMachines M2350
AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+(1.8GHz)
802.11g Wireless
15.4-inch WXGA
512MB DDR
60GB HDD
CD-RW/DVD Combo
Windows XP Home
Refurbished Notebook P
S-Video
IEEE 1394 Firewire
Integrated 5 in 1 Card Reader

Plus with purchase of the laptop you can get an $80.00 rebate on a Lexmark x5250 printer that ends up costing $9.99

I'm a newbie, but that's my .02

"There are no current In-Store Specials"

That deal expired weeks ago. Even the update to the 12 cell battery, combo drive and free printer for $100 more expired Saturday.

narcotic did say "looks like a warm deal" and IMO, $548 is OK for a Mobile Celeron 2.6GHz, 8 cell battery (~3-3.5 hours on that model), etc. I bought an 1150 from the outlet and upgraded the CPU to a Mobile P4 2.8GHz for $50 after selling the old one. It's a pretty decent laptop for a low end price.

IMO, the Inspiron 2200 is a better deal for $618 than the 1150 for $548: Celeron-M 1.4GHz, free combo drive upgrade, free wifi upgrade, 1 year warranty and no rebates. Or the similar 1200 with a Celeron-M 1.3GHz, combo drive and wifi for $568AR. The 1200 and 2200 run much cooler and can be upgraded (2200 at least) to Pentium-M CPUs
