This is actually pretty fucking cool, too bad for 300 bucks you could buy a pretty high end LCD.

Cool regardless.

Yeah, but can you get a 60" LCD for $300 :)

Of course, 50 lumens is ... 50 times less bright than my projector. I'm not sure how this would work in even a dim room.

Resolution is 858x600

But cool regardless.

Perception of brightness is logarithmic, so 10x more lumens would make an image appear about 2x as bright. You can check out a video here:
M109S Review on Gearlog

In real-world terms, you can expect to get about a 15" image in a brightly lit room with sunlight and about a 40" image in a dimly lit office with no natural lighting.

I'm actually pretty tempted to get one except for two issues. The first is an annoyance and the 2nd is a deal-breaker:

1) No remote and the touch-sensitive control pad has no tactile feedback.
2) No zoom. Image size is entirely a function of how far you are from the projection surface.

I'm not entirely sure, but I imagine that this projector has no perspective correction so if you're not square with the "screen," your image will be distorted. Again, not sure on that one. I'd research to find out if #2 wasn't already a deal-breaker for me. :brokenheart:

Our outside sales reps love these projectors... For the cost of a single lamp change in a larger projector I get a unit that is perfect for our most common size audience (3-6 people), lasts twice as long and always in the briefcase when opportunity knocks.

The lack of tactile response on the keypad is only a short term gripe, once you use it a few times no big deal. As far as zoom/image correction - it's a $300 projector designed for maximum portability and relative ease of use... these are nice to have but not worth making the projector larger or harder to use (in my opinion). Turn down the lights and slide it back on the table to make the picture, slide it up to make it smaller/brighter.
