I have the Dell Latitude D800 and wish to upgrade the memory.

Can anything other than the DDR PC2100 / 266MHz go into this machine or am I stuck having to find this exact memory module(s).

TIA

I have a D800 at work - You can use DDR333 (PC2700) or DDR400 (PC3200) modules just fine. One of the catches though is, if you put in a double sided 1GB module, the other DIMM has to be a single sided stick, otherwise it will only detect half the memory on the second stick.

For example I put in a double sided 1GB stick and a double sided 512MB, and it only detect 1.25GB. So I ended up pulling the 512 and putting in a single sided 256.
