Dell Latitude D505

I'm working on a buddies Dell Latitude D505 and while installing XP for him I accidentally pushed the little lid screen button down that kicks the screen off blank until you lift that up, or the lid, now the screen won't come on after the Dell bios logo, and I've clicked the mouse, keys, mouse pad, you name it and nothing works.

The F8 key is listed as CRT/LCD and I've tapped this a few times.

Do these laptops have a lock feature for the screen?

I can't believe just pushing the little arm that turns the screen off, puts it into sleep killed the screen and now it's dead. 🙁

Any help would be greatly appreciated I can't get this thing to work... 🙁

THANKS

pull the main battery and cmos batt?

I know on many dells the cmos batt is under little door you can only get to when the main batt is removed.

Also.... this is why I no longer fix anyone's personal computers...

Got it, just reset the BIOS...

I can't believe that if you kill the monitor on this notebook, during the windows install it won't come back, really odd.

Sheesh what an adventure, I farted like over an hour on this thing.... 🙁
